From the very beginning, all beings are Buddha;

like water and ice, without water no ice,

outside us no Buddhas!

How to Join the Zen Center

An old teaching observes that when a glowing coal is set out on the ground alone, it slowly goes out, but when several glowing coals are arranged together, they burst into flame. As a Zen community, we feel that way about our mutual practice and we support each other in it. The Center is, of course, the focal point for our group and we invite you to join us as a member. If you would like to join you may fill out the online membership application by clicking the button Join on this page and it will be automatically sent to us.

Of course, the financial viability of the Zen Center is critical, so members are asked to commit to minimum monthly dues of $30.00. Some members prefer to pay $90 per quarter; some pay the annual $360 at one time, and some pay a great deal more. You are, of course, welcome to join us in sitting whether or not you can afford to pay dues; in that case, a minimum donation of $5 is suggested per visit. But be assured you are always welcome whether you are able to contribute financially or not. Pledges and donations can be mailed to the Clear Water Zen Center, 2476 Nursery Rd., Clearwater, FL 33764, left in the donation box at the Center, or made monthly through an automatic recurring payment on your credit card.

Pledge a recurring amount or make a one-time donation using the secure payment portal.
